Ligno Mix

Ligno Mix

Complete Micronutrient Nutrition with Natural Lignosulfonate Complexation

Ligno Mix provides crops with five essential micronutrients in readily available forms: manganese, zinc, iron, copper and boron. These elements contribute to chlorophyll formation, photosynthetic activity, nitrogen metabolism, protein synthesis, vegetative growth, flowering, pollen viability, fruit development and seed formation.

Complexation with natural lignosulfonic acid improves the stability and availability of the micronutrients, promoting rapid absorption and an effective plant response. This makes Ligno Mix suitable for both preventive nutrition programmes and corrective applications when crops show early signs of micronutrient imbalance.

The formulation also helps optimise spray coverage. The surface-active properties of lignosulfonates reduce droplet surface tension, supporting more uniform distribution across the plant and helping limit fertiliser losses from leaf surfaces. Its low-foaming behaviour facilitates preparation and application, including use in complex tank mixtures.

By maintaining a balanced micronutrient supply during critical development stages, Ligno Mix helps stabilise crop metabolism, improve nutritional efficiency and sustain the physiological condition required to maximise yield potential and crop quality. All composition and application information below is based on the official Ligno Mix datasheet.

Features and Properties

Ligno Mix is a concentrated liquid micronutrient fertiliser containing 2.50% manganese, 2.00% zinc, 2.00% iron, 0.30% copper and 0.40% boron by weight. The combination has been designed to supply several micronutrients that participate in complementary metabolic and physiological functions.

The micronutrients are complexed with natural lignosulfonic acid, which acts as a stabilising and complexing agent. This technology helps maintain the nutrients in available forms and promotes their absorption after application.

The product is completely soluble in water, making it easy to dilute and distribute through conventional application systems. Its liquid format enables accurate dosing and simplifies its integration into professional crop-nutrition programmes.

Ligno Mix has surface-active properties that help reduce the surface tension of spray droplets. This supports more even coverage of leaves and other plant surfaces, while helping the applied solution remain distributed across the crop.

The formulation has low-foaming characteristics, which facilitate tank preparation and reduce handling difficulties when the product is incorporated into multi-product spray programmes. It is compatible with most fertilisers and pesticides, although a preliminary compatibility test is recommended before using an unfamiliar mixture.

Manganese contributes to chlorophyll formation, photosynthetic processes and nitrogen metabolism. Zinc participates in growth regulation, protein synthesis and early plant development. Iron is essential for chlorophyll-related processes and supports metabolic activity, particularly in young tissues.

Copper contributes to enzyme activity, chlorophyll-related processes, pollen formation and cell strength. Boron plays an important role in flowering, pollen germination, seed setting, sugar-related processes and the development of reproductive tissues.

Together, these nutrients help maintain a balanced physiological and nutritional state across the crop cycle, from early vegetative development to flowering, fruit formation and seed maturation.

Recommended Crops and Timing of Application

Cereals

Apply from the three-leaf stage during autumn to support establishment before winter dormancy. Resume applications in spring during tillering, shoot formation and the flag-leaf stage, when micronutrient demand increases rapidly.

Rapeseed

Begin the programme at the four- to five-leaf stage and continue until winter dormancy where required. Spring treatments are recommended from stem elongation and main-shoot development through the green-bud and compact flower-bud stages.

Maize

Apply between the three- and six-leaf stages, followed by a second application between the six- and eight-leaf stages. These timings support early vegetative growth and help prevent hidden micronutrient deficiencies before rapid biomass accumulation.

Sugar Beet

Treat from the six- to eight-leaf stage and repeat as the crop approaches inter-row closure. Applications during this period support leaf-area development, photosynthetic activity and active biomass formation.

Potatoes

Apply around canopy closure and repeat during flowering. These stages coincide with strong vegetative demand and the transition towards tuber development.

Vegetable Crops

Use during periods of rapid leaf expansion and biomass formation. Additional treatments may be scheduled before flowering, during fruit set or at the beginning of fruit development according to crop demand.

Orchards

Apply during active fruit development, dividing the recommended three to four treatments across the fruit-growth period. Ensure sufficient water volume to obtain complete canopy coverage.
