VEKON

VEKON

Foliar plant growth regulator with 1% forchlorfenuron (CPPU) designed to stimulate cell division and fruit growth at key development stages.

VEKON is a physiological plant growth regulator formulated as a 1.0% liquid solution of forchlorfenuron (CPPU), a synthetic cytokinin.

The datasheet describes stimulation of cell division and fruit elongation, with crop programs aimed at fruit growth, uniformity, yield and commercial quality.

Key benefits and agronomic effects

  • Increases total crop yield and improves uniformity and commercial quality.
  • Stimulates cell division and fruit elongation.
  • Promotes fruit growth at key stages of development.

How it works / Technical advantages

VEKON is described as a highly active synthetic cytokinin that stimulates cell division and fruit elongation. The datasheet links its use at key fruit-development stages with larger and heavier fruits and more uniform fruit growth.

Application rates and timing

Application Guidance: Use VEKON at the crop-specific development stages and dose values shown in the datasheet. The source dose-column unit presentation is ambiguous, so values are preserved without conversion.

Foliar application

CropsTimingDoseNotes
TomatoAt the beginning of vegetative development for plant conformation; at beginning of flowering and first-fruit set for fruit weight, size and uniformity; repeat after each cut for finished tomatoes.1Dose value preserved from source; table heading references PPM / ml per 100 L water.
Pumpkin, melon and watermelonAt 3-5 true leaves for early vine development; at beginning of female flowering for fruit set; repeat every 5-10 days thereafter for fruit weight, size and uniformity.1Dose value preserved from source; table heading references PPM / ml per 100 L water.
CucumberWhen first flowers appear; repeat after 7 days for flower and fruit setting. For size, uniformity and weight, repeat every 5-10 days when young fruit appears.0.5Dose value preserved from source; table heading references PPM / ml per 100 L water.
OnionAt the second pair of true leaves to improve bulb size, shape and uniformity.0.5Dose value preserved from source; table heading references PPM / ml per 100 L water.
Deciduous fruit trees (apple, peach, pear, plum and cherry)At fruit set; repeat 15 days later.0.5Objective: increase setting and improve fruit size and shape. Dose value preserved from source.
Citrus fruits and mangoes15 days before flowering; repeat at petal fall and when fruit is marble-sized.1Objective: uniform blooms and increase fruit set. Dose value preserved from source.
BlackberryDuring budding; at beginning of flowering and fruit set, with an 8-day safety interval.1Dose value preserved from source; table heading references PPM / ml per 100 L water.
StrawberriesDuring crown formation; at beginning of flowering and fruit set, with an 8-day safety interval.1Dose value preserved from source; table heading references PPM / ml per 100 L water.
Table grapeFrom green point to 15 cm shoots, according to variety, to improve sprouting uniformity, shoot vigor and bunch structure.4Dose value preserved from source; table heading references PPM / ml per 100 L water.
PineappleAt drying of the petals of the last third of the fruit.2Objective: improve fruit shape and weight. Dose value preserved from source.
Ornamentals (roses, chrysanthemums, carnations and poinsettias)At beginning of bud burst or after bud burst for lateral bud sprouting; for bunch-produced species, just after the apical flower bursts.0.5Dose value preserved from source; table heading references PPM / ml per 100 L water.
PotatoAt planting for sprouting; for stolons, at the beginning of that stage and repeat 15 days later.1 at planting; 1.5 for stolon-stage foliar useThe datasheet gives separate values within the potato program.

Additional technical information

Mixing & compatibility

VEKON is described as compatible with most foliar fertilizers and plant protection products with a neutral or slightly acidic reaction. Avoid strongly alkaline products and other growth regulators. If in doubt, perform a small-scale compatibility test and maintain constant agitation.

Precautions & storage

Store in the original tightly closed container in a cool, dry and ventilated place, protected from direct sunlight and heat. Store above 0°C and below 40°C. Keep out of reach of children, pets and unauthorized persons, and away from food, feed and drinking-water sources. The datasheet states at least 2 years of effectiveness under proper storage conditions.
