SIL AA

SIL-AA: Amino Acid-Complexed Silicon and Potassium for Stronger, More Resilient Crops

SIL-AA is a concentrated silicon and potassium nutrient corrector enriched with free amino acids to improve nutrient uptake, transport and distribution inside the plant. Its formulation supplies Silicon (SiO₂) 26.4% w/vPotassium (K₂O) 10.2% w/v and Free Amino Acids 3.0% w/v, making it a high-performance solution for crops exposed to abiotic stress, disease pressure and demanding production conditions.

Thanks to its amino acid complexing technology, SIL-AA supports efficient foliar absorption and helps plants reinforce structural tissues, improve physiological balance and maintain productivity under stress. Silicon is considered a beneficial nutrient for many crops because it contributes to stronger cell walls, better tolerance to environmental stress and improved postharvest quality.

SIL-AA is especially recommended in crop programs where growers seek stronger plants, more uniform development, improved resistance to stress and better fruit or leaf quality. It is suitable for annual and perennial crops, and can be used in foliar applications, drip irrigation, soil application or hydroponic nutrient solutions according to the crop program.

Origin and Certifications

SIL-AA provides a combined nutritional and physiological effect based on three complementary components: silicon, potassium and free amino acids.

Silicon helps strengthen plant tissues and supports the crop’s natural resistance mechanisms. Potassium contributes to water regulation, fruit development, quality and stress management. Free amino acids enhance absorption and mobility, helping the plant use silicon and potassium more efficiently during key growth stages.

This multi-action approach makes SIL-AA a practical tool for improving crop performance in periods of rapid growth, environmental stress, disease pressure, fruit development and pre-harvest quality management.

SIL-AA helps incorporate silicon into the plant, supporting stronger tissues and more resilient crop development. Its regular use can contribute to higher tolerance to abiotic stresses such as heat, drought, salinity, radiation and periods of physiological imbalance.

The product also supports the crop’s natural resistance to fungal pathogens and pests by helping reinforce physical and physiological barriers. In fruit, vegetable, ornamental and perennial production, SIL-AA can improve quality, firmness, shelf life and final commercial appearance.

Additional benefits include intensified root system development, better vegetative balance, improved crop vigor and a positive contribution to yield and marketable quality.

SIL-AA is formulated with silicon complexed with amino acids, which improves the uptake and transport of both silicon and potassium. This gives the product a strong technical advantage over conventional silicon sources, especially in foliar applications where absorption and compatibility are essential.

Its formulation offers high miscibility and solubility, allowing easy integration into crop nutrition programs. The product is compatible with most pesticides, except those with an alkaline reaction, which should not be mixed with SIL-AA unless compatibility has been previously verified.

SIL-AA also supports postharvest performance. According to the product datasheet, silicon can inhibit ethylene activity, helping reduce the speed of aging in harvested plant tissues and supporting longer chlorophyll retention, better shelf life and improved appearance.

Features and Properties

SIL-AA is a silicon nutrient corrector designed to improve the nutritional and physiological performance of crops through a concentrated formulation of silicon, potassium and free amino acids. Its composition includes Silicon (SiO₂) at 26.4% w/v, Potassium (K₂O) at 10.2% w/v and Free Amino Acids at 3.0% w/v.

The product is formulated with silicon complexed with amino acids, which enhances the uptake, movement and distribution of silicon and potassium within the plant. This makes SIL-AA especially suitable for foliar applications where fast absorption, efficient transport and uniform plant response are required.

SIL-AA offers high miscibility and solubility, allowing it to be easily incorporated into crop nutrition programs. It can be applied by foliar spray, soil application, drip irrigation or hydroponic nutrient solution, depending on the crop, production system and agronomic objective.

Its use contributes to stronger plant tissues, improved resistance to abiotic stress, better natural resistance against fungal pathogens and pests, and enhanced crop quality. SIL-AA also supports root system development and can help increase postharvest life by maintaining produce appearance and shelf quality for longer.

SIL-AA is compatible with most pesticides, except products with an alkaline reaction. It is available in 1 L, 5 L, 10 L, 20 L and 1000 L formats, supplied in plastic bottles or IBC packaging.

Recommended Crops and Timing of Application

SIL-AA is recommended for a wide range of crops, including vegetables, strawberries, cut flowers, nursery plants, wheat, sugarcane, tree crops, vines, bananas and turf.

In annual crops, applications should begin from the first visible leaf stage and continue every 10–15 days, especially when the objective is to reinforce tissues before rapid growth, leaf hardening, high temperatures or stressful conditions.

In perennial crops, SIL-AA is especially useful during leaf flushafter fruit set, during periods of disease pressure and throughout stages where fruit quality, firmness and postharvest life are important.

In sugarcane, applications are particularly recommended before the drier months to help the crop better tolerate water stress and maintain productive vigor.
